La Marseillaise, The French National Anthem Homework

What this song and now the National Anthem of France, La Marseillaise basically saying is telling the people of France to prepare. Why? Because most of the monarchy countries in Europe and even the moderate countries like England and Spain are coming to invade France. It is warning the people of the arrival of the enemies. Also, it’s talking about how before they used to be treated and how things were, but how now everything is different and better. It gives the people courage and is telling the enemies that the battle will never stop if they killed their soldiers that more soldiers are going to be born and they are also going to fight back. That they are going to be winners no matter what. That they want their liberty and also in the end there is a children verse that talks about how the kids will follow their elders’ examples because they are fighting for their homeland. I think that this song became the French national anthem because it represents what the people of France are. It represents their history and how they got to be what they are now. Finally, I think that it shows the courage they took in beating their enemies besides the fact that the odds were against them and also because they fought too much in order to get what they wanted which was the liberty of their country.
